The target was Radar system – Army spokesman

The target of the tiger attack today (9th) morning had been the radar system deployed at the air base at Vavuniya says Army spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara.
At a media briefing held at Media Center for National Security (MCNS) today Brig. Nanayakkara said 10 bodies of terrorists including that of 5 female cadres were found in and around the Army, Air Force and Police camps complex after the attack.
About 70 rounds of artillery were aimed at the complex from 2.50 a.m.to about 5.45 a.m. said Brig. Nanayakkara adding that two bombs were dropped by two light air crafts of the terrorists at about 3.30 a.m. which fell on areas where the Army camps are located.
10 Army soldiers were killed in the attack and 15 others were injured. One police officer was killed and 7 Air Force personnel and 9 Police officers were injured in the dawn attack said Brig. Nanayakkara.
