Islam means ‘peace’, which Sri Lanka is finally experiencing after three decades of bloodshed. For Muslims in Sri Lanka and all over the world, Ramazan is a period of religious obeisance and reflection in a climate of peace. This is only the second year that the Sri Lankan Muslim community is celebrating Ramazan in a climate of total peace and harmony. On Friday, they had an opportunity to meet and closely interact with the architect of the dawn of peace - President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who offered Ifthar at Temple Trees.
